Askdm: AI-powered document preparation and organization platform for immigration filings

Síguenos en Instagram

Askdm has listed on Business Chain's project catalog. The company is building an AI-powered document preparation and organization platform for immigration filings, automating the technical assembly of evidence packages (exhibit lists, tables of contents, cover pages) based strictly on documents the client provides. The platform does not give legal advice.

What the problem is

According to the founder's description, assembling an immigration filing packet is heavy administrative work: formatting the applicant's narrative, organizing supporting documents, building a table of contents, and putting it all together into one packet. Self-filing applicants struggle with this. Attorneys and paralegals spend billable hours on it instead of on substantive casework.

How AskDM works

Applicants go through educational materials, describe their circumstances, and decide which documents to include and how to structure them. When a law firm uses the platform, an attorney or paralegal directs the preparation instead.

From that input, AskDM generates an editable draft packet: a title page, table of contents, exhibit list, and a draft petition that presents the applicant's statements in the third person. Users then review, confirm what to include, and revise.

The platform is built to keep technical processing separate from legal decision-making. It organizes what it's given, it does not add new facts, choose an immigration category, or make eligibility determinations.

Two distinct users

  • Attorneys and law firms: AskDM automates technical tasks normally done by paralegals and standardizes packet preparation. The legal team still sets content and strategy, gets an editable draft, and does the final review. The stated goal is lower administrative cost per case and more capacity per team.
  • Self-filing applicants: educational resources drawn from official sources help users prepare their information and organize documents. After technical assembly, applicants can hand the draft to an independent attorney for legal assessment, revisions, and representation.

A planned network of participating attorneys across immigration practice areas is meant to connect self-preparation with professional legal help, with attorneys receiving already-organized materials and applicants discussing scope and cost of further services from there.

Stage and traction

Askdm is at early-traction stage. Free tools and educational resources are live at askdm.com in English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Spanish, and are currently used by individual applicants and immigration attorneys. The next milestone is launching the full SaaS case-builder with a legal-team portal and validating that workflow with law firms. Planned revenue includes usage-based processing fees tied to document volume, subscriptions, and white-label licensing for law firms.

Team

Askdm was founded by Anastasiia Horbovtsova, a former immigration attorney's assistant with hands-on experience preparing and organizing documents for USCIS and immigration court filings. Her background in immigration document workflow is paired here with product development and AI tooling.

What it's looking for

Askdm is seeking $500,000 in investment to fund the build-out of the full SaaS platform and its legal-team portal.
