Business Chain rechecks all 198 organiser pages on the catalogue every week, not to pad a number but because programmes change their terms faster than anyone updates a press release. October 2026 was a heavier month than most: 12 programmes added, 3 that closed their current intake, and 12 that opened one. Here is exactly what moved, and what it's worth to you if you're applying this quarter.
What Got Added
Eight of the twelve additions this month are angel networks, and none of them publish a standard cheque size on their own page. That's normal for angel groups, the number gets negotiated deal by deal rather than posted like a grant ceiling, but it's worth knowing before you spend a week hunting for a figure that was never going to be published.
- Golden Seeds (Golden Seeds), amount unpublished.
- SFC Angel Fund (SFC Capital), amount unpublished.
- Angel Academe EIS Fund (Angel Academe), amount unpublished.
- Cambridge Angels, amount unpublished.
- The Business Angel Network of Southeast Asia (BANSEA), amount unpublished.
- Indian Angel Network (IAN Group), amount unpublished.
- TCA Venture Group, amount unpublished.
- Keiretsu Forum, amount unpublished.
The other two additions worth flagging are not angel money. European Innovation Council EIC Pathfinder joined the catalogue with grants of up to EUR 4 million, plus booster grants of EUR 50 000 for smaller scoping work. And Founders, Inc. Blueprint II was added without a published amount at all. The organiser describes it as a 'first check' from Founders, which tells you more about the stage they're writing for than a number would.
What Closed, and Whether It Comes Back
LAN Accelerator V5 closed its intake this month. The programme covers $15,000 USD of programme cost through a SAFE at the startup's current valuation. The useful detail is the 'V5' in the name. A programme already on its fifth numbered cohort is built to repeat, not run once, so a V6 intake opening next cycle is the reasonable read, not a guess. We don't have confirmed detail on the other two closures this month, those will get updated on their catalogue pages as the organisers publish reopening terms, and we'll report them here next month.
What Reopened
- Innovate UK Efficient, Structured and Controllable AI Systems, up to £1.66 million, open now.
- EU-LAC Digital Accelerator, acceleration services valued up to 30-40k€, paid in services not cash, open now.
- PearX (Pear VC), $500K-$2M, open now.
Deadlines Elsewhere in the Catalogue Worth Flagging
October's additions aren't the only clock running. A handful of programmes already in the catalogue have dates landing inside the next few weeks, including the sibling track to October's new EIC Pathfinder listing.
- NLnet Foundation Grants, between €5,000 and €50,000 for a first grant, next deadline November 3rd 2026, 12:00 CET (noon).
- Station F Fighters Program, free desk space plus program-specific funding, no fixed deadline stated on the program site.
- European Innovation Council EIC Pathfinder, grants of up to EUR 4 million, EIC Pathfinder Open closed 12 May 2026 and EIC Pathfinder Challenges closes 28 October 2026.
- Advanced Industries Accelerator Grants (Colorado OEDIT), varies by grant type, typically up to $250,000.
- EXIST Startup Grant (Gründerstipendium), up to EUR 30,000 plus a monthly stipend, non-dilutive.
- EIC Accelerator, grant below EUR 2.5 million for 24 months at TRL 6-8, plus an investment component.
- Innovate UK Funding Competitions, figures vary by competition, including up to £1.66 million, £900,000, £3.1 million and £2.4 million, with close dates including 21 October 2026 and 28 October 2026.
Where the Money's Moving
Three things stand out from October taken together. First, angel networks are the fastest-growing part of the catalogue this month, eight of twelve additions, and none price themselves in public, which means more of this segment runs on introductions than on posted terms. Second, the large public cheques are still clustering around deep tech and AI at a specific technical bar: EIC Pathfinder's EUR 4 million ceiling, EIC Accelerator's grant below EUR 2.5 million at TRL 6-8, and Innovate UK's £1.66 million AI systems competition are all chasing work at roughly the same maturity level, not early prototypes. Third, cash is being replaced by in-kind value in more places than one. EU-LAC Digital Accelerator pays in 30-40k€ of acceleration services rather than cash, and LAN Accelerator V5 structured its $15,000 as a SAFE rather than a grant before closing. Two different ways of avoiding a straight cheque, both sitting in the same month's catalogue.
